There is so much fun to be had with 'High Meadow Farm' fabrics.
Donna showed us how to use Marti Michelle's magic mirrors.
We worked with the feature print which comes with a cream or blue background
and had such fun previewing all the
different farm scene patterns we could get before we cut the fabric.
We tried using a tan print for the main part of the quilt
and although it sets off the clever magic mirror cut hexies
nicely we liked the blue print more :)
The hexagon blocks then had some strip piecing added to them to create this star
which we then appliquéd to the background fabric.
Kay then came up with the idea for the border and Darlene did some
magical quilting on it - there isn't a pattern for this quilt as we
were just a group of friends having fun creating together.
I have managed to get a few more of these cute little screw top tins that
contain mother of pearl buttons.
We have just had a huge delivery of these delightful scissor charms -
they make a great gift for a friend and if you often stitch in a
group having one on our scissors makes it an easy way to identify your scissors.
If you doing Seaside Town you might want to check out the gorgeous,
fish or perhaps the octopus is perfect for you :)
Bye for now
PS. We have a couple of Tractor Race quilt kits left,
be quick to secure yours.
